MUSIC: Young Jeezy and Jay - Z - "My President is Black Remix" Live

Jay-Z is one of the best lyricists of our time. That's it. Period. Let the vid play out so you can hear Jay's verse. Hopefully they'll make an official video and I can post that later. P.S. Jeezy has some crazy stage presence.

My president is black in fact he’s half white
So even in a racists mind hes half right
So if you got a racists mind its alright
My president is black but his house is all white
Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther could walk
Martin Luther walked so Barack Obama could run
Barack Obama ran so all the children could fly
So Ima spread my wings you can meet in the sky

OHHHH MY GOD!

MUSIC: Wiz Khalifa - "Say You Will"

Wiz Khalifa spittin on the "Say You Will" beat from Kanye's 808's. This kid is fresh.

"E. Kanevil showin you niggas how to stunt!"

Are you kidding me???

MUSIC: Coldplay - "Life in Technicolor"

I know the album came out last year but this track finally got a video. I can't tell you how much this has been rocked in my car.

You wish you could make music like this! Shades are dope, too.

One of my favorite tracks from his new album. And damn! Homie knows how to dress!

TECH: I don't know what to call this, but I want one!

This has nothing to do with Kanye West, I just think this is one of the sickest pieces of photo/graphics equipment I've ever seen. Apparently this is set up at the graphics lab at USC Institute of Creative Technologies. Here's some more photos.

MUSIC: Benzi, Plain Pat and Kanye - Sky High Mixtape

This is the highly anticipated (by me atleast) remix tape by Benzi, Plain Pat, and Kanye West. These beats are ridiculous.

Just to prove I like more than hip-hop. This is the first single from their highly anticipated '09 album Tonight: Franz Ferdinand

MUSIC: Kid Cudi "Sky High"

Kid Cudi is currently my favorite up and coming rapper. This is a verse he laid on a track on Kanye's upcoming remix album.

WRITTEN WORD: Vibe Kanye West Cover

I do occasionally comment of the content of publications, but this is just another sick cover. Who thought putting a gradient in front of the picture would be this cool?

DESIGN: 500XL Desktop Speakers

These are so cool, but I don't think they'll fit my ears.

Via: The Design Blog

DESIGN: Indoor Mario Landscape

It's quite fitting that I would find this the day Super Mario Bros. is dethroned as the Best Selling Game of All-Time. Pretty cool little room done up by artist Antoinette J. Citizen. More photos here.

FASHION: Lacoste Stealth Ibiza Block

These look suspiciously like Vans, true story. The only difference is that I want them 10x more than any pair of Vans I've ever seen.

DESIGN: Triangular LED Wood Clock

How sick is this? When asleep, these clocks just look like pieces of wood, but when turned on LED lights shine through brightly to display the time. It doesn't stop there, the clocks also display the date and temperature. You can pick one up for about $40 here.

FILM: Milk

Two nights ago I went to the movie Milk.

First of all, before I talk about the movie, I have to say anyone looking for a fun movie experience in the Tacoma area should definitely stop by the Grand Cinema in Tacoma. It was a really great place and will definitely be seeing another film there.

Now to Milk.

Director Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting) just painted his Mona Lisa. For a serious film, Milk has it all; great acting, great script, amazing cinematography. If someone were to ask me what Van Sant could have done better, I would have trouble finding an answer.

Sean Penn (I am Sam) does an extraordinary portrayal of gay activist Harvey Milk. Every once of frustration, happiness, sadness, hopeless, anger, etc., is felt through his performance. Penn is supported by other actors who do an outstanding job as well including James Franco (Pineapple Express), Emile Hirsch (Speed Racer), and Josh Brolin (Planet Terror) to name a few.

Humor, tragedy, and success make this film a must see.

WRITTEN WORD: Obama Newsweek Cover

While checking out at the grocery store the other day, I happen to see the cover of the December 29, 2008 - January 5 ,2009 cover of NewsWeek. Usually I find myself impressed with the written content of NewsWeek instead of their design, but this cover blew me away. The way it used graphic to tie in the topic of this issues focus is brilliant. This proves that using symmetry is OK and that color and simplicity is not the only way to obtain a successful cover. Bravo, Newsweek!

FASHION: Converse Spring 2009 | Black and Gold Pack

Converse Skateboard launched their Spring 2009 collection. The Black and Gold Pack shown here is my favorite. The uppers are pretty dope, but the lows are what really caught my eye. Their going for $90 a pop, but I might have to pick up a pair.

NEW MUSIC: Idle Warship - "Try it On"

This is a new hip hop group I stumbled on. They have a sound similar to Black Eyed Peas, except no Fergie, so they're better. Enjoy.

Dear Washington Drivers

My first post is unfortunately a rant. I have a small favor to ask of Washington drivers. The next time a couple inches of snow fall, please do not treat it like the end of days. This is frozen precipitation falling, not fireballs from the depths of hell. When we had our last bout of snow, it seemed like 50% of my community holed themselves in their homes as if the minute they pulled their car out of the garage it would be barraged by stray Volkswagens. It's OKAY. You can drive! Area's in this country get feet of snow every year. Do you think they stop everything and wait for it to go away? This morning about an inch fell, which meant a centimeter on the roads, and one my way to work people were driving 4 MPH. It makes no sense. They're roads! Drive on them!

What you should expect out of this.

Not a whole lot.

I'm going to use this to post different forms of art that spark my interest. This includes music, fashion, photography, architecture, etc.

In addition, like everyone else, I'll complain about stuff on here as well.

Enjoy.
